You know you've been watching/reading too much Ouran High School Host Club when you walk through the asian food aisle at the grocery story and think, "OOH! Commoner's ramen!"

I really want to read an X-Men/White Collar crossover fic in which Gambit and Neal cross paths. Bonus points if it's movie-verse Gambit. Two sexy thieves in fedoras? ♥!

I was poking around on eBay, torturing myself by looking at all the shiny things I can't buy because my job pays poop (and because I am saving all my pennies for a house, I WANT A HOUSE SO BAD) and I found that way back in 1997, there was a Generation X coloring book. How did I not know this before?!?

And you, gentle reader, may be thinking: "silly woman, aren't you a bit old for coloring books?" To which (if I were telepathic and read that thought) I would reply: "NO, you goshdarn whippersnapper, I am NOT too old; and furthermore the simple lines of coloring pages make great embroidery patterns and it would be freaking awesome to have Jubes, Skin, and Monet embroidered on my kitchen towels. So there. Also, get off my lawn! Damn kids."

At the very least, I amuse myself.

Good luck to everyone participating in NaNoWriMo! I wish you all success!

DV8 is BACK!

I should probably read the comics before I get excited, huh? Meh. I loved the 90s version, hated how the series ended (when I finally managed to find scans!) and am pumped it's getting a reboot. Yay!

Why is it nigh impossible to find any fic for the Darkness or Witchblade? The only Witchblade fic I can find is based on the short-lived TV show, not the comic. :( And no Darkness fic at all! What gives?

Fanfiction: Do you love it or hate it, or are you totally indifferent? Why?

Love it, obviously!

I was in junior high when I discovered fanfic. This was about 1994, 1995 - yes, I'm a few years older than the average ficcer - back in the days of dial-up America Online internet access. We had a beige, boxy Apple family computer; this being back before they started calling them "Macs." I was just getting into X-Men comics and innocently did a AOL search for "X-Men." Stumbled upon the old Subreality site run by Kielle (anyone else remember this?) and my world was forever changed.

Fic reader for 15 years, writer for 3.

The first ten people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. Some other equivalent gift, like icons or mini-fanmixes or quickie meta, would make sense for people who don't write fics themselves.

Yes, I have been writing. (Good.) Have not, however, been typing/posting. (Bad.) Buuut... making some progress.

Anyone know of a fun ficathon happening soon?

Not so much a resolution (I break those) as a goal: 50,000 words in 2010. If NanoWrimo participants can do it in one month, surely I can manage it in twelve. Handy ticker in the sidebar to keep track of my efforts; I am feeling good. I am ignoring that I didn't even make 4,000 last year. Wish me luck! Any requests?

I'm having trouble starting my heroines_fest fic. My recipient doesn't want fluff. I'm good at fluff! I can do fluff!

On a more fun note, thanks to my ebay purchases tonight my Generation X action figure collection is missing only two figures. I need Phalanx and the Protector. As I have absolutely no recollection of who the Protector is, I don't feel his plastic presence is required. Once I get Phalanx, the set's complete as far as I'm concerned!
